In 1910 American Bridge Company constructed and gifted to the Ambridge community a beautiful 7086 sq ft municipal building with a garage for its horse-drawn firetrucks, and stables and hay loft for the horses, a jail with cells, and all the office spaces the growing community could use over its four floors with its three walk-in safes to keep documents protected. In 1998 the Borough of Ambridge sold the building and it has since been used for a construction company, for movie productions, for office space, for storage of automobiles, and for residential. Part of the second floor office space was converted to a one bedroom apartment. Another space is a studio apartment. The third floor, presently unused, was once a space for large gatherings with a small stage at one end. This historical Ambridge building is ready for new use.
